NAFI is dedicated to the single mission of raising and maintaining the professional standing of the
flight instructor in the aviation community. Since 1967 no aviation organization has done as much
to advance the cause of flight instruction as the National Association of Flight Instructors.
NAFI, EAA, and Falcon Insurance Agency have developed a special and exclusive insurance
program providing an outstanding array of insurance coverage. The NAFI Flight Instructors
Professional Liability and Non-Owned Aircraft Liability Insurance Plan is far and away the
broadest protection available for a flight instructor.
Here are some of the enhancements exclusively available to NAFI Members:
- Liability Insurance Coverage for Flight Instruction, Flight Reviews, Evaluation Flights,
Flight Check-Rides, and Flight Examinations. (This plan protects the instructor even after
the flight is concluded, as long as the policy is maintained.)
- Highest Limit of Personal Liability Insurance available ($1,000,000 combined single limit
with $200,000 per passenger, not restricted by the lower “per person” restriction). In
addition, this plan features the highest available limit for Non-Owned Aircraft Physical
Damage Insurance: $150,000.
- The Definition of Non-Owned Aircraft includes: Single-Engine and Multi-Engine Fixed
Wing Aircraft, Gliders, Floatplanes; in the Standard Category, Primary Category,
Experimental Amateur-Built Category, Experimental Light Sport Category, and Special
Light Sport Category.
- Non-Owned Aircraft Liability and Aircraft Physical damage Liability Insurance for the
personal use of non-owned aircraft.
- Legal Defense Insurance Coverage up to $5,000 (and coverage applies even in the
absence of an accident or incident!)
